In the special package, visitors will get special fare, discounted rooms, and sightseeing in and outside the Kathmandu Valley as per the demand.
Saroj Kasaju, commercial director of NAC and Upaul Majumdar, general manager of Soaltee Crowne Plaza, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations on Friday.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Sugat Ratna Kansakar, managing director of NAC, said that the agreement with the hotel has been signed to bring more Indian visitors to Nepal. "Our main objective is to target new customers from India. As per the agreement, Soaltee Crowne Plaza which will handle other aspects like marketing and promotion," Kansakar said, adding that the national flag carrier will enter into similar tie-up with other hotels and agencies to promote pilgrimage tourism in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand in the near future.
NAC has begun scheduled flights to three Indian cities - New Delhi (from February), and Bangalore and Mumbai (from September). The national flag carrier has been offering one round trip ticket free with purchase of two round trip tickets for Bangalore and Mumbai. The offer is valid till October.
Kasaju said the new agreement with Soaltee is an effort to bring more Indian tourists. "We are hopeful that the package will help us bring more Indian tourists to Nepal," he added.
Similarly, Soaltee's Majumdar said the new package has been launched to bring more tourists to Nepal. "At a time when NAC has started flying to three Indian cities and connect most parts of India, we, private sector being responsible for tourism promotion, want to ensure that the seats are filled," he added. Majumdar also said Casino Mahjong has also joined hands to entertain the Indian tourists who are much attracted towards casino.
Soaltee Crowne Plaza is a part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) which has six sales offices in India. According to Majumdar, all the sales office will be selling the package which is valid from September 20 for a period of three months initially.
"We believe that this package will help meet the objective of the country after the earthquake that is to take Nepal, back on the top of the world again," added Majumdar.
