NA launches oxygen plant

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Nepal Army on Thursday Launched an Oxygen Plant at Birendra Hospital, Chhauni. According to NA Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav SJB Rana inaugurated the Ripumardini Oxygen Plant, which was set up at the cost of Rs 33 million.



The plant will be useful to meet oxygen demand during shortages in the market and during emergencies, according to a press statement by DPR.[break]



The plant when operated in full capacity can produce 60 cubic feet oxygen per hour and 20 cubic feet Nitrogen per hour with 96 to 99.6 percent purity. Birendra Military Hospital alone consumes over 1,63,200 cubic feet oxygen each year.



Brigadier General Suresh Sharma, NA spokesperson, the oxygen produced by the plant will be pure and healthy compared to those currently available in the market. He also said that the price will be cheaper.
