The locals had established the school in 1997 due to lack of a madrasa at the local level and the district education office permitted for operation after two years of its establishment. [break]
Some 200 students are enrolled in the school at present.
Headmaster Abdul Kalam said that the locals have been donating 25 per cent of their annual crops production while the abroad goers from the village offer 10 US dollars every year to run the school.
The students have also been provided with the hostel facility.
The school is registered under the Educational Guthi at the Western Regional Education Directorate, Pokhara.
Though the government has given approval for madrasa operation, the school has received no subject-wise teacher from the government side yet, bemoaned locals.
