Most university vcs, teachers fail to submit property details

KATHMANDU Aug 25: Most of the officials of universities including Tribhuvan University (TU) VC Prof. Dr. Heera Maharjan and community school teachers have not submitted their property details for years.



According to the report presented by National Vigilance Centre, some 106,087 teachers have not submitted their property details so far. [break]



Although there are some 125,000 teachers working, only 1,766 have submitted it.



Some 107,853 permanent teachers work in 32,000 community schools in Nepal at present.



As per the report, TU Service Commission Chairman Dr. Ishwor Chandra Dutta, KU VC Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, PU VC Prof. Maheswor Man Shrestha, Nepal Sanskrit University VC Prof. Dr. Shivahari Marhattha, Pokhara University VC Prof. Dr. Khagendra Bhattarai, Far Western University VC Dr. Jayaraj Awasthi, Mid-Western University VC Dr. Padamlal Devkota and Lumbini University VC Dr. Triratna Manandhar have also not submitted the property details.



As per the Corruption Control Act- 2059 BS, one has to submit the details within 60 days of the end of a fiscal year.
