Yona Elias and Sujal Shrestha scored hat-tricks for MMC in the rout of Arambagh, which has already crashed out of the tournament. Anil Ojha also added a goal for MMC.
Striker Deepak Rai received his marching orders in the 32nd minute of the match for an elbow challenge but MMC opened the scoring in the injury time of the first half despite being reduced to 10 men. Yona Elias scored in a pass from Bishal Rai B to put MMC ahead in the first half. [break]
MMC piled pressure on Arambagh early in the second half and Yona converted a penalty in the 63rd minute to double the lead. MMC was awarded a penalty and Arambagh player Bipluv was sent off after he pulled down Yona in the danger zone.
Shrestha scored his first and MMC´s third goal in the 67th minute utilizing a brilliant pass from Ojha, who scored six minutes later in a pass from Yona Elias.
Yona completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute to put MMC 5-0 up. Shrestha scored his second a minute later and completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute to complete the rout.
With the win, MMC avoided a semifinal clash with rival Laxmi Bank Three Star Club and will now face Group B runner-up United Sikkim on Thursday for a place in the final. Three Star will take on Bhutanese League Champion Yeedzin FC on Friday.
The final of the tournament has been re-scheduled for Sunday.
