KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), claimed that March 5 in Rupandehi-1 will not just be a date but a historic day. Speaking about the upcoming election, he said, “I don’t know how many calendars have changed on your walls. March 5 comes every year, but this time, it is not just a date—it is history.”
Lamichhane clarified that he had not come to deliver a traditional campaign speech but to rekindle hope in the hearts of the people. He said, “I am not here for a campaign speech, I have come to add a little oil to the lamp that is already burning in the people’s hearts.”

While campaigning for RSP’s candidate Sunil Lamsal in Rupandehi-1, he urged voters to make clear decisions in both the direct and proportional representation ballots.
He also warned against splitting votes between different parties in the two systems, saying such practices would not fully eliminate corruption. “Do you want to control corruption halfway, or completely?” he asked the voters.
