Man 'involved in Maoist's murder' killed

DHADING, Dec 4: Hours after Bijay Tamang, a district committee member of UCPN (Maoist), was slain in Dhading, a man, who the Maoists say was involved in Tamang´s murder, has been killed.



Bhishan Simkhada, 28, a resident of Darkha VDC-9 in Dhading district, was found dead in a jungle in Darkha-1 Monday night. Simkhada was accused of involvement in Tamang´s murder. Tamang, who was attacked by an unidentified group in Ghumi VDC-7 of Dhading Monday morning, had died on the spot.[break]



Pushpa Bikram Malla, district committee coordinator of UCPN (Maoist), had alleged that Simkhada was a member of the group that killed Tamang. The police had also launched a manhunt against Simkhada, whom Malla described as ´a thug´ belonging to the Nepali Congress (NC). Simkhada´s father Mukunda, who fought for the Maoists, was killed by the police during the insurgency. According to DSP Bikash Raj Khanal, Simkhada´s body, which was recovered Monday midnight, was full of bruises and cuts.



Earlier, the police had arrested three people for their alleged involvement in Tamang´s murder.
