A person calling himself Santosh Sethi of India phoned a couple of hours later from Australia some capital-based journalists taking responsibility of the incident.[break]
He reportedly told on the phone that he sent his men to attack the agency´s manager because the latter was involved in the trading of fake Indian currency notes.
The assailant was accompanied by another youth who had put on a helmet and remained outside the office during the incident. The assailant was overpowered by a security guard. The assailant had escaped the scene after the person waiting outside interfered into the scuffle.
"We have CCTV footage of the whole incident in which we cannot identify the assailants clearly. We are investigating the incident," said Inspector Krishna Koirala, chief of Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbarmarg.
