Advocate Tulasi Simkhada on November 1, 2010 filed a writ petition demanding a mandatory order from the Apex Court for the proper management of small arms and weapons.

The SC said issuing a mandatory order was not necessary since a law against the use small arms and weapons already exist in the country.

“A necessary mechanism should be formed to control small arms and weapons if they are not registered during post-conflict stage,” the verdict reads.
