KATHMANDU, June 4: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) bottlers have withdrawn their protest after the government agreed to fulfill their demand within a week after they introduce the dual color gas cylinders in the market.

Officials of the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies and representatives of the Nepal LPG Industries Association reached the agreement during talks on Monday.[break]

Ministry spokesman Deepak Subedi said supply will remain smooth as the bottlers have agreed to call off the protest, which was to start Tuesday.

The bottlers had said they would stop distrubution of LPG gas cylinders in the market starting Tuesday. Earlier the bottlers had refused to implement the government policy to supply duel-color cylinders in the market.

The government has already announced that it would implement dual-color LPG cylinders from mid-June.

As per the government policy, the bottlers should distribute blue cylinders to industrial consumers and red to household consumers.
