Police said an armed gang opened fire on 30-year-old clothes businessman Suresh Shah of Ishworpur-2. He was carrying Rs 110,000 in cash when he was attacked.
The assailants took away the cash and motorcycle he was riding, police inspector Shankar Singh Rawal of the district police office said. The victim has been sent to Janakpur Zonal Hospital for medical treatment.
His attackers are absconding. Police have tightened security check in the neighboring area to ensure that the looters do not flee away.
