The tournament will be organized in five different age categories -- 10 years, 12 years, 14 years, 16 years and 18 years -- in both boys´ and girls´ section. [break]Organizers informed that the winners will be given cash prizes, trophies and gift vouchers. The tournament will be organized annually.
The Lissanevitch family -- Kabita Regmi Lissanevitch and Alexander Boris Lissanevitch, the father and mother of Aslesha -- also announced to start a Trust in the name of Boris Lissanevitch for the welfare of the tennis players. According to Lissanevitch family, the fund in the trust will be used for abroad training of tennis players.
Late Boris Lissanevitch is the father of Alexander and grandfather of Aslesha and Ivanhoe.
Kabita will be the chairperson of the trust while her husband Alexander will be the vice-chairperson. Other board members will be decided shortly. According to Alexander, the trust had already raised Rs 150,000 from close friends and some well-wishers.
Lissanevitch family will bear all the cost from their individual fund to conduct the tournament. According to Kavita the amount collected for the trust will not be used for the tournament.
Alexander said that their interest in junior level tennis inspired them to organize junior level tournament. “Junior players can improve their games through tournaments,” he said.
Boris, who is known as father of tourism in Nepal, had started Hotel Royal in 1956 at Bahadur Bhawan, currently the head office of Election Commission.
In 1961, Boris Lissanevitch was involved in managing the function held during the crowning of Late King Mahendra Shah at Hotel Royal. After closing Hotel Royal in 1969, Boris started Hotel Yak and Yeti in 1969. Boris died in October of 1986.
