Khadka leads at NBA

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Prem Bahadur Khadka leads in the vote-counting for the presidency of the Nepal Bar Association.



Democrat Khadka is leading with 932 votes while leftist Hari Krishna Karki is following with 629 votes. Ram Nath Mainali is third with 215 votes as the votes from 13 among 33 polling stations were counted.



Likewise, Bijay Prasad Mishra leads in the vote-count for the post of general secretary with 918 votes, while Hari Phuyal and Shyamji Pradhan follow with 668 and 189 votes, respectively.



In the treasurer´s vote count, Yuvarajkumar Bhandari leads the race with 888 votes. Shankar Subedi is second with 589 votes and Harindra Prasad Rai third with 208 votes.







The NBA election was held on Saturday while the vote-count only started on Tuesday.



A total of 5,922 members cast their votes. A total of 54 candidates are contesting for 17 positions.
