Addressing the 15th Convocation Ceremony of the Kathmandu University (KU) in Dhulikhel Friday, PM stressed on the need for patriotic and life-skills education. PM Nepal urged the students to work for the welfare of the marginalized and ignorant people searching new opportunities within the country.
PM, who is also the Chancellor of the KU, requested the passed out students to preserve the dignity of their degrees being honest and cultured in their daily lives.
During the program, PM Nepal awarded Parikshya Pokhrel with the Chancellor Gold Medal and Juddha Bahadur Shrestha Gold Medal, Hemanta Raj Mainali with the Vice-chancellor Gold Medal and Subhash Kandel with the Juddha Bahadur Shrestha Gold Medal.
PM Nepal and Vice-chancellor of Colombo University Prof Dr S S M K Kshanika Hirimburegama distributed certificates to 1,486 students graduated-1,174 from the Bachelor´s Level and 312 from the Master´s Level and Ph.D.
At the program, Vice-chancellor of Colombo University Hirimburegama said all should help the honest and committed persons to accomplish their goals. She said Asian countries were rich in culture and nature and emphasized collective management and utilization of the culture and nature.
Stressing on today´s education to all, Vice-chancellor of KU Dr Suresh Raj Sharma said that those who can pay for their education should pay whereas who cannot afford should be assisted.
