Katawal on leave from Monday

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Rookmangud Katawal Friday wrote a letter to the Ministry of Defense informing the government that he is staying on leave from Monday.

Katawal entrusted Chhatra Man Gurung, the second-in-command in the Nepal Army, with taking charge as the Acting Army chief of the national army from the same day.

Katawal is retiring as the army chief from September 9.
