CONCIN organized a press conference on Wednesday in the capital and informed that the respective events are organized in association with Nepal Judo Association (NJA) and Nepal Amateur Athletics Association (NAAA). [break]
The judo championship is co-organized by Mount Everest Judo and Marshal Arts Research Center. "NJA and NAAA are providing technical and financial support for the programs," informed Purna Bahadur Khatri, the general secretary of CONCIN.
According to CONCIN President Ganesh Bhakta Shrestha, altogether 200 players from 14 children´s homes will participate in the judo championship. The championship will feature nine weight categories in both boys´ and girls´ section.
Likewise, the road race will be conducted from Tinkune, Kathmandu to Maitighar and children will compete in two age groups, one of 12 to 15 years and the other 15 to 18 years.
On the same occasion, CONCIN President Shrestha, NJA President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya and Mt Everest Judo Center´s President Manoj Bahadur KC signed MOU for organizing CONCIN Cup every year.
Meanwhile, NAAA President Nilendra Raj Shrestha said that his association is also ready to organize such athletics tournaments every year.
