“I am not aware about the uniform policy,” said Prachanda Jang Shah, a teacher at Tribhuvan Primary School in Khalanga -6.
Similarly, Narbahadur Shahi, a teacher at Suryodaya Secondary School in Kaina said nobody at the school wore uniform because there is still a confusion about the color of the dress. “We will certainly wear uniforms from next year,” he declared.
According to the district education office, 465 permanent teachers, 68 lower secondary teachers and 31 secondary teachers received the allowance for uniform last year.
“However, the allowance has not been used for the purpose,” said Girman Thapa, district education officer.
Thapa further added that Khalanga higher secondary school is the only one school in the district that has followed the uniform rules.
“When the government is ready to spend that much of amount on us for dress need not we be equally responsible in making it successful? We have blue dress and it looks smart,” said principal of the school Kedarbahadur Shah.
