KATHMANDU, 22: In an apparent displeasure over promulgation of the new constitution in Nepal, India has 'stopped' supply of petroleum products.

Some 23 tankers laden with petroleum products have been stopped at Raxual border entry point citing security reasons.

“Customs officials stopped tankers referring to order from higher authority,” a source at Amlekhgunj-based depot of Nepali Oli Corporation (NOC) told Myrepublica, “Officials refused to release tankers despite completing all formalities.”

“They have asked us to talk with higher authority and we are in consultation.”

First Secretary Abhay Kumar at Indian Embassy in Kathmandu didn’t respond to the phone call made by Myrepublica over halt in import.
