IMF delegation calls on Finance Minister

KATHMANDU, Sept. 11: A visiting delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday called on Minister for Finance Barsha Man Pun at the Ministry of Finance.



During the meeting, Minister Pun said that the government was cautious to reduce the impacts of political transition in country´s economy.



Pun said that country´s economy was on right tract through one-third budget though the government failed to bring a complete budget due to lack of political consensus among the political parties.



Minister Pun said, "Country´s overall economic indexes are towards positive direction as the government has put economic development on top priority."



Press coordinator of Finance Minister Manoj Ghartimagar quoted the Finance Minister as saying that share market was on bullish trend though condition of realty was not improved yet.



On the occasion, Chief of IMF delegation Todd Schneide said that the IMF was closely watching Nepal´s economy and expressed pleasure towards improving economic condition.



Todd also said that the IMF would continue providing technical support to improve Nepal´s economic condition.
