KATHMANDU: The second edition of Himalayan Outdoor Festival (HOF) will be held from May 3-5 at Hattiban, Lalitpur. Organizing a press conference in the capital on Sunday, Deepesh Ghale, one of the organizers of HOF, said the event will feature adventure sports, mountain biking, rock climbing and trail running. There will be three different competitions in mountain biking -- night uphill challenge, cycle ´O´ cross and super D powered by Epic/Chain. The night uphill challenge will begin soon after sunset with the bikers riding uphill. The event will be the first of its kind in Nepal. Cycle ´O´ cross is an event open to all. The trail running will include 5 km and 10 km races. Rock climbing will feature two competitions -- nature rock climbing and dyno bouldering competition. In dyno bouldering, the participants need to leap from one handhold/foothold to another all at the same time. Meanwhile, an adventure film festival will be held on the opening day of the event. According to the organizers, about 3,000 individuals from 14 different countries had participated in the last edition of the festival held at the same venue.
