Shah said after the tie up, the banks will be able to offer mobile banking and mobile wallet facilities. “Customers can visit the nearby agent and get the money deposited in interest bearing wallet,” he said adding the service would be beneficial in rural area where there are no banking services.
“The MoU is intended to establish arrangements for coordination and cooperation between the BFIs, maximize customer uptake and eco-system setup, avoid unnecessary duplication of effort, and modalities of interoperability like sharing of customer touch points such as each other´s agents and branch network,” the statement said.
Shah further said that the platform of ´Hello Paisa´ would be cost effective as a single agent could manage services of different financial institution.
