Kumar Paudel of Pokhara, Surya Basyal of Nepalgunj and Gopal Sitaula of Jhapa -- all of whom are working in Israel -- have sent to Rs 11, 57,600 to Balbahadur Pariyar and his wife Kaushila. All five of their quadriplegic daughters can neither stand on their feet nor hold anything with their hands. [break]
Similarly, Radhika Bishta, who lives in Australia, has sent Rs 407,400 to the Pariyar couple to take care of their quadriplegic children.
The benefactors had carried out two separate campaigns in Israel and Australia to raise funds for the Dalit family that lives in Ranipani village-6 of Parabat district after watching a short video about their physically-challenged children on facebook.
The video was posted by Laxmi Prasad Paudel, who runs a program titled “Apangata Sarokar” on Nepal Television (NTV), on facebook.
Paudel handed over a check of Rs 15, 65,000 to the Dalit couple. “People proactively came forward to support them after seeing the video on facebook,” said Paudel.
“I am now happy that every one has supported me,” Balbahadur said. Balbahadur says none of his daughters was born quadriplegic but developed the disease within a month of birth.
