Gurung arrived in Chitwan to address a function organized by Baidya faction in Bharatpur to mark the 1990 people´s movement.
Gurung argued that they are not against peace and the new constitution as alleged by the party establishment faction and other political parties.
“There is no disagreement that the peace and constitution drafting process should be concluded within the stipulated deadline. But we doubt if the new constitution would be pro-people,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maoist establishment faction held a separate function at Buddhapark of Narayangadh to mark the Janaandolan Day. Maoist politburo member Agni Sapkota had addressed the function.
Though the two factions have organized separate functions in the past, this is the first time the factions held separate functions on the same day.
