The general assembly also elected Majendra Bahadur Singh, Dev Kumar Lama, Keshav Singh Thakuri, Prakash Mohan Dhauvadel, Gajendra Bahadur Khapangi, Ram Kumar Tharu, Dharmendra Bahadur Lama, Resham Lal Lama, Mingma Tamang, Radhika Deula, Bhanu Yadav, Tirtha Raj Shrestha, Chitra Bahadur Rana, Shailesh Baskota, Raju Thapa and Indra Bajracharya as the members of executive committee. All the members were also elected unopposed.
As the general assembly amended its statute, the executive committee will nominate five vice-presidents and a general secretary, a secretary and a treasurer from among its members.
National Sports Council (NSC) had dissolved the executive committee led by Kedar Babu Shiwakoti on July 25 and appointed Dawa Gurung as the president of the ad-hoc committee. The ad-hoc committee was given a mandate to hold the election within 60 days.
Meanwhile, Shiwakoti has called the NSC move illegal and claimed that he is still the president of the association.
"We have taken action against the irresponsible people within the association. I request all the players and coaches to fulfill their duty without any hesitation under the newly elected committee," said Yuvaraj Lama, the member secretary of the NSC during the general assembly.
Meanwhile, the first meeting of the newly elected executive committee nominated Lama as its patron and appointed Maoist youth wing leader Chandra Bahadur Thapa as its executive committee member. The meeting appointed Mahesh Kumar Shrestha as the chief coach of the game.
