Govt to bring national cooperatives policy

LALITPUR, Nov. 30: The government is to bring a national cooperatives policy soon to run cooperatives sector in policy wise manner.



The government is going to bring the policy soon in the context that every sector has demanded the policy to make the cooperatives systematic and transparent in policy level. [break]



Inaugurating the 18th anniversary of the Lalitpur District Saving and Credit Cooperatives´ Association Limited, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayankaji Shrestha, said that the Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has prepared a national policy and added that the Council of Ministers will approve it soon.



Minister Shrestha said the government was committed to making cooperatives sectors transparent and for the uplift of overall cooperatives through proper policies.



On the occasion, Chairman of the Central Saving and Credit Limited, Minraj Kandel, said that cooperatives sector should be made systematic and transparent.



Similarly, Hari Dahal, Lalitpur In-charge of the UCPN-Maoist and Lalitpur Chairman of the CPN-UML, Madhusudan Paudel discussed about the importance and utility of cooperatives.
