Govt-Tharu organizations to sit for talks

KATHMANDU, March 10: Agitating Tharu organizations have agreed to sit for talks with the government while giving continuity to the protests, a Tharu leader said. The talks are scheduled at 10 am Tuesday. “After the government showed positive response towards our demands, we have decided to hold talks with government but our protest programs will continue,” said Raj Kumar Lekhi, general secretary of Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha. Tharu organizations have also decided to let markets open for two days to mark holi festival but have asked their activitists not to use colors to celebrate the festival, a Tharu leader said.
