CHITWAN, July 28: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal (RPP-N), Kamal Thapa said on Saturday that the President should be proactive to resolve the current political stalemate in the country.

President should call for a national conference to forge a favorable environment for next election, he stressed. [break]

The same conference would work for a national consensus government and for next elections, he further added.

Inaugurating a new party building at Bharatpur, Thapa said that the incumbent government should put an effort towards forging consensus between political parties.

Coming down heavily on some political parties, he sternly criticized the parties demand to revive the dissolved Constituent Assembly, saying that it won´t be acceptable.

At the time when the constitutional complexities have increased; to give the country a political outlet, all the political parties should join in for the discussion, Thapa reiterated. He also accused the major three political parties for pushing the country towards crisis.

In a different context, criticizing the government´s decision to provide facilities to VIP’s, RPP-N chair said that the decision should be scrapped and that being a former home minister he would reject the state facilities provided to him.He also urged all to join a protest against depleting the state coffers.
