A cabinet meeting on Thursday evening decided to revoke its earlier decision to allow the private companies from trading petroleum products now onward.
During the five-month Indian blockade, the government had issued temporary licenses to 35 private companies to import fuel to meet the fuel demand in the country.
The proposal to scrap the decision of allowing private companies to trade petroleum products was tabled by Minister for Supply Ganesh Man Pun in the cabinet.
"Now onward, only Nepal Oil Corporation will import and trade in petroleum products," Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma told Republica.
Similarly, the cabinet has also given an approval for receiving the concessional loan from the Chinese government for upgrading the Pokhara airport into a regional international airport.
Also, the cabinet also directed the concerned ministries and various government agencies to immediately supply food to food-short districts in the Karnali zone.
The meeting also discussed the prime minister's China visit to start on Sunday.
