Govt committed to address people's aspirations: PM

KATHMANDU, March 5: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said the government will get its full shape soon which will address people’s aspirations.



Speaking at a function organized by Yadu Memorial Academy in the Capital on Saturday, he said though the delay on the extension of government created dilemma in the country, the extension of cabinet on Friday ended all the uncertainties.[break]



During the function organized to mark 12th Yadu Memorial Day and distribution of Yadu memorial journalism award, Prime Minister Khanal said the new constitution should be written as per people’s aspirations and it will end all kinds of discriminations in the society.



The new constitution will inspire the nation for drastic change, he said. It will end shortage and price hike of basic goods, added the Prime Minister.



“The present government is committed to conclude peace and constitution writing,” he said.



Khanal said though the nation passed through political transition for around five years, it slowly passes through the transition.



On the occasion, Khanal expressed his heartfelt condolence to Nepali Congress founder member and former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and famous novelist Diomand Shumsher Rana, who died on Friday.



He awarded Tularam Pandey, Kantipur correspondent from Kalikot district with Yadu memorial journalist award.



The award purse the bag of Rs. 10,000 and appreciation letter.



Speaking at the program, Tirtha Gautam, spouse of late Yadu Gautam said the leaders of political parties and the government should do their best to fulfill martyrs’ dream.



Awarded personality Pandey said, the award inspired her more to work in journalism.



CPN-UML leaders Yubaraj Gyawali and Prakash Jwala also spoke in the program chaired by the academy’s secretary Hari Sharma.



They stressed for the unity among major political parties to conclude peace and constitution writing process.
