DAMAK, April 3: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the political parties would coordinate to promulgate the new democratic constitution through the second Constituent Assembly.

Speaking at a press meeting here Friday, he said they would not let the second CA become a failure as the first one for the Nepali Congress has a leading role in the current CA. "The Nepali Congress, as the biggest political party in the CA, would take initiatives for forging political consensus and write the democratic constitution," NC General Secretary Sitaula said.

Hinting toward the oppositions parties' protest, General Secretary Sitaula said the street protest announced by the 30-party alliance led by the Unified CPN (Maoist) has no meaning at all for the constitution could not be written at the force of street protests rather it should be written by forging consensus.

NC leader Sitaula urged the UCPN (Maoist) not to disrespect the public mandate and be serious to write constitution as desired by the public. The constitution writing process would move ahead once the CA meeting resumes on April 23 and assured that the nation would get the new constitution by May 29. RSS
