Speaking at an interaction organized by Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON), senior vice-president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhashkar Raj Rajkarnikar said the private sector was preparing to exert pressure on the government to bring fiscal budget by mid-July. “Let´s work together to put in place an obligatory provision that makes the government being budget in April or July at any cost,” Rajkarnikar added.
FNCCI President Suraj Vaidya lambasted the government for not putting economic agendas in priority.
“The government approved anti-money laundering bill in a haste to escape blacklisting from an international body. But other bills of national importance are gathering dust in parliament,” he added.
FNCCI officials criticized the government for putting focus only on political issues and putting other issues of national importance on the backburner.
