POKHARA, Oct 21: Five died while 18 others were injured when a passenger jeep met an accident at Phirfire of Tanahun district on Wednesday.
All those dead are locals. Lok Prasad Gurung, 55, Radha Gurung, 17, Purnima Gurung, 13, Santa Gurung, 30 and Rabin Gurung, 12, died in the incident, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Bista.
The accident happened when the jeep with registration place Ga 1 Cha 4558 fell 300 meter below off the road at 11 a.m.
The injured are being treated in Pokhara and the condition of driver Sukram BK is critical, according to police.
Bista said the jeep was overcrowded as 12-seater vehicle was carrying more than 30 passengers.
