According to the organizer, the expo is being organized with an objective to expand the market and the Thai services in Nepal.
The organizers further said the expo will have 30 stalls showcasing Thai-made products including cosmetics, decorative items, fashion products, handicraft products and jewelries, among others.[break]
“Though the two countries have a good history of trade, the volume is very low. We aim to increase the volume of trade between the countries significantly through such events,” Tharadol Thongruang, the minister counselor (commercial) at the Royal Thai Embassy, said at the opening of the event.
According to Thongruang, the Nepal and Thailand make up an average of Rs 100 million dollars in bilateral trade a year. He also said the fair would be held annually.
Thongruang said Nepal could be a good commercial hub from the point of view of tourism, hydropower and handicraft. The fair concludes on September 1.
