Expedite Sudan scam: SAC to CIAA

KATHMANDU, May 12: The State Affairs Committee (SAC) of parliament on Thursday directed the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to conclude probe on Sudan scam without further delay.



SAC president Ramnath Dhakal said, “Those guilty in the scam must be brought to book.” [break]



The anti-graft body has been investigating over the scam following preliminary investigation conducted by the parliament and home ministry separately.



Both the probe team had concluded that Rs 310 million out of total Rs 440 million was embezzled while procuring and supplying armored personal carriers (APCs) to Nepali peacekeepers deployed in the Darfur, Sudan.
