The exhibition, which consists of works, mostly sculptures, by 20 artists was on display at Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg, from November 16 to 20. Due to popular demand and requests, the art is again on display till November 29 in Shangri-La. After which, the art work can be seen at Meconopsis Boutique Hotel in Pulchowk from December 1 to 21.[break]
Talking during the press meet at Shangri-La Hotel in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Kripa Rana Shahi of the Da Mind Tree informed, “The waste was collected by the Save Mount Everest Clean-UP Expedition Campaign in the Spring of 2011 and 2012. 1.5 tons of garbage was donated to us by the Everest Summiteers Association (ESA) and we’ve turned that into art.”
She also thanked the people involved in the project and hoped that there work will help keep the mountains clean.
The artists involved in the project, who created what they created out of the waste, are Sudarshan Bikram Rana, Dr Laya Mainali, Sunita Rana, Bhuban Thapa, Raju Pithakoti, Tara Prasad Ojha, Lalkaji Lama, Krishna Bahadur Thing, Keshab Raj KHanal, Rajan Kafle, Sushma Shakya, Anita Khana Bhattarai, Devendra Thumkeli, Saroj Thapa and Prajwal Shahi.
EBL distributes trash cans to Budhanilkantha temple
