KATHMANDU, March 13: Various students unions have enforced four-hour long chakka jam across the country including Kathmandu Valley in protest of the recent hike in public transport fare starting from 6 to 10 am on Wednesday.

The vehicular movement has been affected in Kathmandu Valley since this morning due to the strike demanding the withdrawal of  government decision to hike the transport fare.

The eleven students unions affiliated to opposition parties obstructed the vehicular movement by holding demonstrations and chanting slogans in front the colleges  against such move.

On March 6, government had hiked the public transport fare by 10 per cent.
