Economic journos off to US

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: More than half a dozen economic journalists representing different media houses left for New York on Saturday to attend training on economic reporting on the aegis of British news agency Reuters.



Thomson Reuters Inc is imparting the week long training under the Financial Sector Reform Program of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).



Issuing a press statement, the NRB said the Reuters will give training to Nepali journalists on different aspects of economic reporting besides impacts of ongoing global financial crisis in the economies across the world.



They are scheduled to visit the Federal Reserve Bank -- the central bank of USA -- and UN headquarters during their stay in US. Rajendra Rimal, assistant director of Public Relation Division of Nepal Rastra Bank, is leading the Nepali team.
