As many as 1,700 households have been displaced in Taplejung – the most hit-hard district– due to earthquake that had shaken off the eastern belt while 700 households are still compelled to survive life under tent.
The government has distributed relief worth Rs. 5,000 each to the quake-hit people but it has not been adequate so that the victims could feel a sign of relief.
Nepal is placed at 11th position in terms of seismic vulnerability in the world. The house bears 80 per cent of the sources for human loss due to earthquake, said seismic experts.
