While Deuba claims that he is the successor of party’s president Koirala, Sushil Koirala maintains that there can not be successor in a democratic party.[break]
Talking to reporters after an informal meeting of the party’s office bearers, Deuba said since he was kept on the second in rank among NC leaders during the unification of his party NC (Democratic) some two years ago he should get to head the party.
Acting President Koirala, however, refuted his claim arguing that there can not be successor in a democratic party.
He said that leadership of the party had come to his hand since he was the acting president of the party. "In democratic party, it depends whom people do elect. There is no system of successor," he said.
