KATHMANDU, Sept 12: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the lawmakers of the party to withdraw their amendment proposals on the constitution bill.

Addressing the Parliamentary Party meeting of the party in Singha Durbar on Saturday, Dahal directed them to pull out proposals.

The Constituent Assembly (CA) is scheduled to start clause-wise voting on the constitution bill from Sunday.

“Top leaders will express their views on addressing demands on the dissidents. Then, you withdraw the proposals,” Dahal told lawmakers.

According a lawmaker, Dahal was of the opinion that lawmakers shouldn’t elongate statute drafting process by registering amendment proposals as the party has already registered a joint proposal.
