BIRATNAGAR, Aug 17: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Friday that the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML should form an alliance as well if they want.

Underlining that it is easier to hold talks between two alliances than with various parties, he urged the main oppositions to form an alliance. Dahal heads the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance, a front of several parties formed recently. [break]

Speaking at a program in Biratnagar, Dahal said, "NC and UML can form an alliance with those parties who share common ideologies. It´s easier to hold dialogue between two alliances than among 33 political parties."

He has also expressed his hope that future talks between such two alliances would provide momentum to the stalled political dialogue and resolve the current stalemate in the country.
