The cadres who had gathered in Itahari to attend an orientation by the party Secretary Dev Gurung suggested that leaders unveil plans to mobilize ethnic and indigenous communities to bring them in the party´s fold.[break]
"Thriving ethnic fronts is good for the party organization. The party should evaluate ethnic leaders justly," said Lal Bahadur Susling, Morang district in-charge of the CPN-Maoist. "Following the split in the party, UCPN (Maoist) party has activated ethnic fronts and we should bring effective plan to counter them."
The cadres also want plans to expose wrongdoings of UCPN (Maoist) leaders and attract undecided cadres to the new party.
Gurung assured the cadres that the party would evaluate the party rank and file working with ethnic fronts. He encouraged them to actively work in such fronts without any hesitation.
Gurung, who spent most of his time criticizing UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, described them as anti-federalists.
"Dahal and Bhattarai are not pro-federalists," he said. "Dahal, Bhattarai and leaders from NC and UML are ones who led the Constituent Assembly to its dissolution without writing a new constitution."
Around 200 cadres attended the orientation.
