The CPN (Maoist), however, claims that the land seized during the conflict were never freed. “The land we had seized during the conflict were never freed, we have just continued with that,” Dinesh Yadav, Dhanusha in-charge of the CPN (Maoist), said. “Apart from it, we have captured just 13 bighas of land at new bus park area and 52 bighas at Janaki Temple area so as to protect the land from being encroached by landless squatters.”
In Dhanusha and Mahottari districts alone, the CPN (Maoist) has seized about 2,000 bighas of land. The CPN (Maoist) has been hoisting its flags in the seized land. Owners of the most of the land captured by the CPN (Maoist) are away from districts and live mostly in the capital.
