The top guns were reportedly questioned why the national consensus was still elusive.[break]
Chairman of the CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal said the President held discussion with the parties in the wake of passing of one month sans national consensus.
Talking to media persons following the discussion, Chairman Khanal said likelihood of a national consensus among the parties before President´s visit to India was growing because of the narrowing disputes and disagreements among the parties.
"Parties are nearing a consensus which is likely tomorrow morning. We shared the same with the President, "he added.
In a bid to find the elusive consensus, the discussion lasted for more than two and half hours.
Similarly, general secretary of Nepali Congress Krishna Prasad Sitaula said they discussed different issues, including formation of national consensus government, election to Constituent Assembly in coming April/May, acts and regulations necessary for the elections.
However, the ´basis´ of consensus would be disclosed in the all-party meeting called by the President for next morning, he claimed.
The discussion was attended by UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN-UML Chairman Khanal and Coordinator of Madhesi Front, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.
Meanwhile, the Office of the President has called a meeting of the parties that were represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly for Monday morning.
