KATHMANDU, Jan. 15: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana returned home on Tuesday following completion of his official visit to India.

The official visit has helped further consolidate the relations between the military institutions of Nepal and India, that share very close relations since a long time, says the Nepal Army Military Public Relations Directorate.

CoAS Rana had left for India on January 6, at the official invitation of Indian army Chief General Bikram Singh.

During the visit, CoAS Rana was conferred the honorary insignia of the Indian Army by Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at a special ceremony held at the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on January 8.
