On the first day of the meeting on Monday, 19 district committee chiefs had put forth their views during the close session.

Addressing the closed session, various NC district presidents had urged the party leadership to unveil a program of stringent protest to oust Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai from the post if he doesn´t step down voluntarily.

The district presidents had also suggested that the party decide to go for fresh parliamentary elections under the NC-led national consensus government.

NC President Sushil Koirala had inaugurated the gathering, a day earlier.

Meanwhile, the gathering, which was originally scheduled to conclude today, is likely to be extended as more leaders are yet to present their views, even though Koirala on Monday evening had stressed on concluding the meet Tuesday itself.
