Climbers to march in NY in May

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: In continuation of the campaign to save the Himalayas from the impacts of global warming, the government will now hold a summitteers´ march in front of UN building in New York in the first week of May, 2010.



In the event, similar to the one held recently in Copenhagen, world climbers including Everest summitteers from home will march in New York to draw the attention of the world community to the threat facing the Himalayas.



The government will make an announcement to this effect Tuesday amid a press conference at the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation.
