Chinese envoy-designate Wu arrives

KATHMANDU, March 7: Chinese ambassador-designate to Nepal, Wu Chuntai arrived in Kathmandu, Thursday, to take up his new assignment.



 Wu replaces Yang Houlan, who left Nepal a few weeks ago. According to spokesperson at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Arjun Bahadur Thapa, the envoy-designate is scheduled to present his credentials to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav amidst a special function to be held at Shital Niwas on Monday.



Prior to this, Wu was serving as deputy director of the Department of External Security Affairs in Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The department is headed by former Chinese ambassador to Nepal Quo Guohong. Along with Wu, Indonesia´s non-residential ambassador to Nepal Rizali W. Indrakesuma is also scheduled to present his credentials on the same day, according toThapa.
