Canadian business delegation visiting

KATHMANDU, July 19: Canadian ambassador to Nepal (and high commissioner of Canada to India) Stewart Beck is leading a high-level business delegation to Kathmandu from July 24 to 26.



According to joint secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Niranjan Man Singh Basnyat, who is also the chief of protocol, the five-member business delegation will study the scope for investment in Nepal´s energy and water sectors. [break]



The visit comes in the wake of Canada announcing halt to all its bilateral aid to Nepal. Canadian development councilor currently based in Nepal will leave Kathmandu in the next 18 month as part of the gradual phase out of its bilateral aid to Nepal.



Canada, however, will continue with its multilateral aid to Nepal.
