Cabinet meet put off yet again

KATHMANDU, March 18: The government failed to appoint governor of Nepal Rastra Bank yet again as the cabinet meeting was postponed on Thursday.



Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato said that Nepali Congress and UML could not reach to a consensus for the appointment of the new governor of the central bank.[break]



Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada, Rameshwor Khanal and Bir Bikram Rayamajhi have been put forward as the key contenders for the coveted post.



The meeting was expected to name the new governor and discuss on Machine Readable Passport issue.



The next meeting has been set for Friday at 11:30 am.
